Was that a 1959 Whirlpool? Interesting how the agitator in the ad did not have the classic Whirlpool cap.

Have a good one,
James

WP caps

Here is a pixs of the chrome cap from 1958 to 1960. I use this cap on my 56 WP, even though the 56 came with the black cap as shown on the POD 57.

I think WP changed to a "wingless" chrome cap in 1961. The 61 WP I used to own had the newer "wingless" style cap.

blades

are the vanes curved like later WP's or straight, I can't tell by the pic. I always loved the KM "rocket cap".

Thank you for posting those pictures, and for your responses. Any time I get to look at Super Surges, I consider it a privilege. It is my favorite agitator, and in my opinion, the best in looks and effectiveness. She looks good no matter what cap she wears, although my personal favorites are the 1960s and 70s wingless versions in chrome and plastic.

Have a good one,
James

I think it's the best, too, in my limited experience. They'd be so much better off using it instead of the present corkscrew.

I totally agree, those "corkscrew" agitators are screwed up! I love those Whirlpool swirled surgilators!
