is that Jane Wyatt? While I'm on the subject--anyone know what kind of washer & dryer the Andersons had? I know they drove a 1955 Mercury to Lemon Falls.... Poor Kitten....

Yes, that

is dear Ms. Wyatt. She was so lovely.

I do like that picture, I think it would be really nice to have a washer and dryer in the room with the garden view.

Back in the 70's,

My Aunt Etta Mae, who lived in Kansas, had the same Lady Kenmore washer and dryer in her basement (hers were harvest yellow). All those buttons on both machines looked really cool. And, if I'm not mistaken, the washer had a detergent/lint filter on the right hand side. Me and my brother got to take turns dumping the detergent in there (hey, it was the basement...we had to do something for entertainment) when the water started flowing out at the beginning of the wash cycle.

The Andersons had slant-front Westinghouse Laundromats. There's an episode which features the washer prominently. IIRC, young Kathy obsessively collects items of clothing from all corners of the house to wash them in their new, spiffy washer.

Gee, does THAT sound familiar, LOL?!

thank you, Eugene--

now I know why I liked the Andersons so much--they had slant-fronts. I will have to try to track down that episode.
Your info about Kitten explains alot....
