I didn't even pay any attention to the background. I guess there are two drain hoses back there! I can't really tell but it does look like there might be crome plating on the top and bottom of the machine as well. I'm pretty certain it's a two-speed model V-16 just like Matthew's. Check out his white GE in collection photos. It's really a beauty! Jon CLICK HERE TO GO TO jons1077's LINK |

This was a beautiful model. Probably has a non-speckled turquoise tub and a straight-3 activator. Had a timed bleach dispenser and IIRC a rare timed fabric softener dispenser as well. The plastic thing that usually was included as a fabric softener dispenser on the filter pan stood in as a liquid detergent dispenser for the pre-wash cycle. This is neither a Versatronic nor three-speeder; it is a two-speed machine. Machines like this one inspired Consumer's Reports to write: "middle range models can be more versatile than their top-of-the-line brand-mates". With these models, however, there were so many options that if you wanted to you could preset what you wanted/needed. And, unlike the Maytag, you could always preset whatever water-level you wanted. Although I'm dying to get this, I think I need to save the money I would have to spend on shipping this washer to Connecticut for a pick-up truck so I can grab all the machines I miss in my area for lack of cheap transportation. Someone please save this.

That is a match to my white 1968 dryer. The chrome strip has a plastic badge that reads Custon V. Wonderful dryer, very quiet and fast. |

Will be there in less than two months. Very nervous and excited at the same time. Just having a horrible time trying to sell the condo here in DC. Losing tons of money on it!!! You better come to Portland, OR when we get there though. Actually, I really hope to have some kind of wash-in soon after we move there. Would love to have you as well! Jon |
