Yesterday I bought a "Simplicity" twin tub from a local thrift! It is yellow, and has an agitator instead of a pulsator. On the back, it says it's made in Hespeler, Ontario.

Anyone know who "really" make Simplicity?

I believe the motor needs a new starter capacitor? The motor groans to start, so I nudge the belt a bit and then it runs. Every time like this. I don't know much about motors, but I hope this is something fixable.

Sorry no camara, one day soon, I hope!

Guy

Upon further research....

I've decided it's a Servis Hi Zone twinnie. It does say Hi Zone on it, and I've found some references to it in the UK.

What's Hi Zone?

Hello Guy

Hi-Zone is the marketing term that Servis UK gave to their washing action, the agitator had vanes/fins from the base of the impellar to the top, which claims to give a more thorough washaction...also on the twinny with the square washtub which washed the clothes " into the corners" of the tub as we lol for a thorough wash ...does it look like the one below??

Servis exported our model 70 over to the States and Australia etc, they sent the parts and had an alliance with Speed Queen to build the cabinets etc...

Hi Mike,

Yeah, thats it. Except for the third knob on top, which I'm guessing is the heater feature you lucky guys have.

Thanks for the information. Mine is missing it's front "badge". I'll also have to have the motor looked at, because of starting issues. I also have a Hoover TT. The Servis seems much better built!

What other colours were available?

Guy
