My 75 year old mother and my 78 year old father purchased a new Whirltag/Maypool from Lowes this past weekend. It replaced a POS BOL 7.5 year old Performa Maytag. It started pouring/leaking water everytime she washed. The Whirltag/Maypool is a nice machine but the timer settings on could be a little confusing for older people. My mother could not figure it out. I had to place a note on the timer which sayes "start here" with an arrow. Why can't these laundry manufactoers make the markings as to where a first grader could figure them out. It confused me a little to start with.

The other thing is the machine kept oversudsing from the drain stand pipe. I went there this morning too see what she was using. She is using regular Tide but mistakeingly got a bottom of Tide "pleasures" detergent which she thought was fabric softner. I looked at the bottle in tiny little letters it sayes "Laundry Detergent". She had been filling up the fabric softner dispenser with more detergent. Thank God the new Whirltag/Maypool has a 2nd rinse option which they had turned on. They are on spring water and it is really soft water. In fact too soft for my taste. It's no wonder she was having all the suds. The old Performer's leaking was not the result of too much detergent. My dad said it leaking from the under the tub which makes me think it was the tub seal. He didn't want to spend no money on it.
