in Sea Foam Green no less. This is essentially the same dryer as my '57 Kenmore. Its a wonderful dryer, I highly recommend it if you can connect it to a 50amp electric Range line (you can also connect it to a 30amp standard dryer line, but you lose the high speed element). It dries things spun well so fast its amazing.

Subject: Free 1958 Lady Kenmore electric clothes dryer in Seattle, Washington

Dear Automaticwasher.org:

Not sure if anyone is interested in such things, but I have a working 1958
Lady Kenmore electric clothes dryer. It came with our house and I've kept
it going for the last 18 years (new belts, occasional lubrication, new
heating element, etc). The timer is running slow but we still use it.

My wife finally insisted that we retire it. Sears is coming on Wednesday to
deliver a new dryer and take this one. Am not sure if there is any
collector interest, but if so, I can e-mail photos and provide further info.

The first two digits of the serial number are "58" so I'm guessing that's
the year of manufacture.

It has a beautiful light green porcelain enameled finish with lots of trick
finishes on the front panels and controls. It has a backlit screen and a
pull-up quick-reference card too.

Other than a chip on the front top surface near the front, there are no
significant flaws.

Regards,

Dave Dintenfass

Well...... There it is......

Another great Kenmore story.

Now you see why I am such a big Kenmore fan. Someone needs to save this workhorse.

Oh Boy, does that look like fun!

But unfortunately, we've no room for it.

On a side note, I think that every basement in Seattle is painted that some color.

Don, I know that Kenmore wants to come and live at your house!! Greg has a similar machine and I was so amazed at how fast it dries.

That looks to be in mint condition. Hope somebody grabs it.

Good Luck,

That is a beautiful dryer! Hope someone does save this one!

My 56 WP dryer is a high speed model also, but it is not connected to a 50 amp breaker. When I got the dryer (a save from Kenny) it had a range cord on it. I changed it over to a new 3 prong dryer cord. It is still a very fast dryer, even on the lower amp circuit.
