Has anyone ever seen this washer or dryer in person? I see old ads for it everywhere but I have never seen one does any member have one?

I actually had the exact pair about 20 years ago. I bought the set used. Augh!!! The lid-open button had a short in it, so you got a quck zap every time you pushed it, and the Timer was on a chain, which kept coming off when you set the cycle, and it was a pain to put back on-because you had to make sure it was calibrated with the indicator arrow, or else it said "WASH" when the machine was really "SPINNING". The lid would pop-up and it would "ring" like a wind-up alarm clock when the cycle ended. The dryer had the same screaming bell at the end of the cycle, The dryer eventually caught on fire and was scrapped. The washer I gave to a friend and I bought a new set of WCI WESTINGHOUSES! So now I'm up to 2 mistakes! Story of my life!

Oh, yeah, I also think that set was used on "The Donna Reed Show" for awhile!

So do you have a collection? If so then I have to see it before I move!

Our 58 Lady had the tape kit timer display pulled by a chain also. It finally died and was replaced by the timer cycles printed in the same 3 colors in the dark gray square around the timer knob.

Roanoke, VA

I saw this same machine just yesterday in Roanoke, Virginia. It's not hooked up at present, but looked great.

It belongs to one of our members.

Jerry,

Do you think you we could get some pics posted of this set?

Would love to see all these wild features, like those push button door openers, and that spinning time-line fabric selector!
