Anyone know the best way to clean stubborn residues off a stainless steel tub? We're not sure if it's our detergent, water (which isn't that hard) or something else, and we don't want to risk scratching the tub with steel wool. The washer is only a few months old.

Most of the residue is along the high water mark in the tub.

Thanks!

Removing stains from Stainless Steel

My first route would be laying a vinegar soaked rag over the stains and allowing it to soak for a few hours then wiping it down with a synthetic scrubbie. If that doesn't do it I'd go right for 000 steel wool.

to remove stains.....

try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (the one with no soap in it). I used it to remove a ring around my agitator and it sure did the job.......

A damp sponge with baking soda may do the trick as well. I would try that first as it is so gentle.

You might

want to try Jet Dry Dishwasher cleaner, Dishwasher Magic, Lemi-Shine or Glisten. They are all strong citric acid machine cleaners that will dissolve and wash away any buildup without fear of damage.
