YOUCRATE would not ship my washer using the AWorg discount because it did not tell me it was an automatic washer. So I said fine, I'll use UFO. You'll see the alien craft in the upper right. Larry King's been all over me. The beginning of this story is dedicated to Geoff, ABC-& Turbo-matics, and all wringer men & women and those who love them. And of course EVERYBODY ELSE With xtreme affection. If you eschew--God Bless You ! --wringers, then please be patient because the Unimatic stuff will be unusual, and I hope very satisfying. Fix yourself a nice drink, enjoy and please be patient. It might take me till Friday to finish, so if you only drink on the weekends, I'll be ready with the end of my picture story. |

totally healed from her stroke, and driving like a teenager on fast heavily trafficked roads, and said: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, you bought another washing machine when your deck looks like hell and needs at least two coats of Thompson's Oil Stain. What are you waiting for And Michael said: Well I see you're all better and hey, you're the one who held me over the Frigidaire on Tenessee Street when you could have thrown me in the corner and said no more washing machines, Mary Jane. Well I was trying to be a good mother, you ungrateful bastard! (smiling) Indeed you were , and I'll thank you till I die. |

Wonderful old 'Noge. Don't ever remember seeing that agitator with no top fins. Great finds! |

but the poor Lady suddenly went on to whatever bliss comes next, and, sad, the Man pushed the washer aside forever, untouched by water, never plugged in.... a washer now so old that it has a tag on the cord which today can only be called amusing and quaint: I M P O R T A N T 'For your protection, this service cord contains a THIRD wire which serves as an electrical ground..." etc.

such that the hose can fly out if you're not attentive or get called away, so I attached the Hoover fill coupler which snuggly fits into the drain hose; thus I can fill from the bottom, kind of like a fresh water suds return; unfortunately, the pic of the coupler somehow did not take. So here's the MAIDEN Fresh Water Return or Bottom Fill, as you like it,

RPM-I think that would be the Apex Dasher, something I've dreamed of seeing in operation. Were the wings curved or spiraled? Wait.....I think the Dasher has only two spiraling fins with holes running up and down. Oh well, I love them all. GEOFF- You'll just die when you hear this. I DO wash on the deck, in a MAYTAG no less, but it's the portable. Rigging the lid, you can do a phantasmagoric spray rinse with the garden hose nozzle. This summer, I'm going to use the Norge with its fantastical advertising claims--even back then when things were more honest(?)--of a "NORGE.......Automatic......DEEP POWER RINSE....Lets you wash and rinse in the same tub....Saves Soap..Saves Times..Saves Water..Saves Work..no extra rinse tubs needed..." The dots (ellipsis) here show each new line on the sticker. The "Saves" line has each phrase bulleted. Each line also has a cool water wave in it. What you do is wash a few loads, drain the used washing liquors, refill with fresh rinse water, then--and now for the "deep" part of the rinse--you open the drain so the pump keeps blasting the the water back into the tub. Automatic because you set the timer, so everything shuts off, when the time is up. I f we could find a booklet, that would be the bomb!!!!!! Because the water gets so warm here, I can wash almost anything outside, filling from the garden hose. I intend to use the Norge Automatic Cycles. The Pre-wash is great because it washes for a few minutes then soaks indefinitely, you come back, let it wash for whatever, etc. Using only Tide W Bleach Powder, all the blueberry and BBQ stains came out of my T-shirt. It all in the soak OH STEVE--wait till you see what the Paddled Wonder does in a fast stroke Speed Queen. When my videographer friend gets back from Iraq we're going to shoot the Spanker in the Queen; it will be almost unbelievable. Just imagine what that thing is capable of at high speeds.... MARRDDDDOOONNEEE (MAHR DOAN) Look in the photo at the tabs. They're on both sides of each paddle. Are they just an engineer's fetish, or to they serve a function. I always though it looked like a salt shaker too. Geoff& Steve: the UNI is so quiet, almost a whisper. I was shocked into disbelief at its near silence. The Norge is also a whisper jet; all you hear is the squish slosh of the jets. Even at a full Geoff fill, they work. ROBERT. I love you, too, always and forever. FA- the very rare Maytag timer did not shut the machine off; it just stopped the agitation. STEVE & EUGENE & JON & GREG- When I read the thread before bed and realized that you had become part of the story, I chuckled with delight--made my day, and not because it made the story all-so-post-modern, but because it was so funny and wonderful. Thank you so much!!!!! THE LAST AND FINAL WRINGGGUEGINGGUE ;'DDD |

Greg G1 Gansky christened this as the month of high times & heady days of June, and indeed I'll do my part, the best of which is a dark comedy called, "The Secret in the Garage," a wonderful surprise for Gregm and Jetcone and Ben who are the main characters along with the fictional Hyacinth Bouquet, and Blackjack Skuhall. HINT: Royal Doultons!!! And I can't wait for my friend Dennis to come home so we can make movies full of talk and washer sounds and jokes so Laundryshark can have a ball along with everyone else. |

Hey Ben, you're the inspiration for what's coming next. As you'll see, it would be impossible without you. It'll be a blast! Thank You. Fantastic photos.....!? Rick, you wrote the book on that. Thank You: the richest richest richest copper ever on the 65 Rollermatic, and who could forget the swirl of color in your WP gym shorts pic. |

MIKEY.....the aliens are fascinated by the "Old Gray" filling coupler that never breaks and lasts forever. They keep running their cruel experiments without anesthesia. I told them that if they did not return it soon I would report their presence to the new British UFO Authority. Heard your having quite the time with the grays over there. You're always so funny. Bet you make jokes even when you're constipated. hee haw JET.......And i thought you only served Nuts&Bolts when Ironman comes. How kind. So when are you and Greg coming for a Booze&Breeze Washing? We should tell our non-frigidarian friends what URK means lest they think we are speaking in alien tongues. Urk is what a Unimatic says when it stops spinning to tell you the load is done. It sounds like a dolphin's greeting, or maybe more like a seal asking for a fish. URK URK URK WASHERLOVER.....What a cool name you have ;'D. Look closely at photo in post 283194, and you'll see slits in the agi, 2 are visible, 2 are not. They water shoots out of them in beautiful curved columns. Dramatic to watch, but why are the columns there? Maybe there is supposed to be a filter. Maybe Geoff or Norman to Turbomatic or Coldspot knows the answer. SHANE....You Doll, thank you so much XXOO. Maybe we can make a difference. Next time I'll come to Orlando instead of Lauderdale. You're welcome here any time. I love how you are the epicenter and pulse-beat of everything exciting going on in the culture, and still make time for washers. Wonderful!!!!!!! |

Hey Mike, My aunt had an early 60's solid tub Norge automatic with that same agitator. It had a plastic sleeve that fit on the barrel where those slits are. There were circular outlets at the top that would channel the water into a small filter pan ala burpilator. |
