I talked to these guys a few weeks ago when I thought I was going to need to replace the timer on my 1-18 before I figured out it was just the timer motor. I located them via google search and the lady I spoke with was pleasant, and helpful. I'd definetly consider using them. Another source I have found is stoneparts.com They actually had NOS timers for my model of 1-18. There is a guy there named Gerald who was also knowledegable and helpful. He went to the trouble of going through the old microfish to locate the cross reference on the timer and the timer motor for me, and he also didn't treat me like I was crazy for wanting repair something that is vintage... |

...About this is- they repair electronic timers, too. Those things are becoming so prevalent that it's going to get more and more difficult to avoid them (which is still my own preference, frankly). There are a few places that do electronic timers, but more certainly couldn't hurt, particularly in light of manufacturers' tendency to discontinue parts before the delivery truck that brings your new washer is out of your driveway. Okay, so that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not as much of an exaggeration as I'd like for it to be- parts get dropped fast these days. I hope members using this company will share their experiences with us, so we'll have some feedback on how good they are. |
