I am looking for a 1961 Frigidaire Custom Imperial WCI & DCI. I know that they are know as "claimshell". Does anyone have a set? Was this a good year for Frigidaire? Were they popular? Are they hard to find? Does anyone have any to sell? I am interested no matter working or not working condition!

Don't have the machines (want a pair myself) but I can give you an idea what they looked like:

I think Maytag swiped this design for their 1966 "Washpower Automatics" and maybe even earlier for their Washer/Dryer combo. By the way, since we're on this subject, stupid question maybe, but what does "DPC" mean on many of the Frigidaire badges?

The control panel design is very similar on the 63' Custom Imperial machines. I loved how bright those control panels were. Plus the fact that they clean clothing very well.

Durable Press Care

These are beautiful machines and I'll bet there would be a very interesting bidding history if the stars and planets aligned just so and a set popped up on eBay!

Patience and time usually bring everything one desires...
