Problems from day one with the electronics. It is less than half a year of age.

Maiden load went through a complete wash and hot dry with "normal" cycle and "Hi-temp Wash" option.

Ran the cycle/programme beautifully. Instead of turning itself off, the controls started beeping and flashing.

First the START/RESET button flashes. One can then hear the dergent cup triggering. It does this a few times then the "normal" cycle light/button flashes. Will stop beeping (but not flashing) when the door is unlatched.

It got so bad that I added a "wall-switch" under the adjacent sink cabinet with which to hard-power-down the whole unit/ circuit.

Eventually it would again default to proper behavior,at its own whim, in its own time. GE factory service has been here about 4/5 times each time replacing the computer circuit board/timer unit. I finally made them replace the resistor that connect to this board as well [It's a programming thing they say]. They simply will not replace the damn thing and insist it is repairable. HA!

The contol board sayd they take 6 minutes to reset themsleves upon power-up. On my machine they never do. This makes little sense to me IIRC in that newer USA electrical code requres wall-swithes for new dishwasher installs.

anyhoo....either there is an issue with the units wiring, the circuit board is indicating another fault or the circuit board are from the same defective (yes they are Chinese-made)batch.

HELP. And how do I apply the screws to GE to get a new one or better yet a big fat check to get something else. I don't G.A.S what stays behind, as long as it works. The house finally got sold! YAY

what a shame, they look like such nice machines....

with the shitty chinese electronics like everyone else in the industry. it sounds like GE gave up too. It's too bad cuz sans the electronics, their machines I think are built the sturdiest.

A carpenter's only as good as his hammer, looks like this dishwasher owns a glass one.

Nothing works like a letter to GE's CEO. Try to keep it to one page, but give details (dates etc) about every attempt made to fix the dishwasher.

Jeffrey Immelt, Chairman and CEO
G.E. Company
5135 Easton Turnpike
Fairfield CT 06431

Follow the letter up with a phone to his office a week later. If you want to get fancy you can send the letter registered with return receipt.

I'm assuming the DW was bought new and came with at least a 1-yr warranty? So unless they're complete idiots they should wish to replace your unit, rather than continuing to spend a fortune on warranty repairs.

Between dishes, diapers and d**ches a girl's hands are f

Thank you Terry. Sad since the other GE DW I have works well and is a good old-fashioned water-hog. I am SO glad the house sold and can move on!

Thanks Jeff will attempt. Yes new with warranty. They ARE complete idiots. It's a pissing contest / battle of wills. They just won't give in and get that POS outta here.

Should I charge them back for the dishpan hands and the necessary manicures? LOL

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

John, Terry, Jeff, Peter you guys have brought me luck! Go play the lottery today. Seriously.

Got GE Customer relations on the phone (A different telephone number than 1.800.GE-CARES, actually HA!).

Lakwanda, Lakwesha, Loquita, Moesha (or whatever her name was was)was actually very helpful *LOL*. Got her to agree to do a swap. They will disconnect the "old", haul it away and provide a new one of the same model. They will also connect it! YAY! Fine with me.

I'm glad I did not threaten to lift and remove her uterus up and out of her body by way of her mouth and throat. LOL ROFL LMAO.

Oy vey, I need to get a life.

Thanks all for your wonderful good wishes and good energy.

Steve,
I am happy for you. At least GE service isn't like LG service. Or at least not yet.
Best Of Luck
Peter
