i had a JCpenny dryer for a couple years. was a ok dryer (think the element was going bad) ended up leaving it for the new owners of the house. my friend still has a JC Penny TV for his Wii |

Well, I thought you were going to tantalize us with a Penncrest solid-tub! That agitator could sure stir up the sudz! Makes me want to run a load with Viva just to see the sudz-cake! Thanks for sharing the photos! |

These were water-hogs, but most of the automatics of this time were. It would have used relatively the same amount of water as any other GE-Hotpoint of the same time. The water level would equalize between the inner and outer tubs as it was filling. The solid tub GE had a sediment hole under the agitator and one small one on the side of the tub combined with the constant overflow over the top of the tub that fed the filter-flo to keep the washtub full. If you stop the washer to soak for a while the water will eventually run out of the two small holes in the tub and equalize the levels in both.
