Anybody know much about them or who made them?
I was at an auction last summer and there was a Simplicity wringer washer there.
It was in nice shape.White tub speckled blue.
It didn't get a bid and I assume was trashed.
I would have took it home if I had a truck.
Just noticed in this weeks paper another auction and a Simplicity washer is up for sale.
I plan to check it out and hope to bag it.
It looks very much like a GE brand.
I know Simplicity has been around for awhile.I have seen new stuff at Wal-Mart with the name, I am assuming it is from another company?

McGraw Edison product

The wringers produced in Canada by McGraw Edison (=Speed Queen automatics) were labeled Simplicity. They bore no resemblance to the SQ wringers produced in Ripon, WI

I have a Simplicity wringer from the '80's. It's fun but lacks the "oomph" of your basic old fashioned wringer.

Do you have a picture of your twin tub? I bet that was a Servis built twin tub. Very cool.

It pays to call the auctioneer

I was looking on the internet for the upcoming auctions.
Love that you can see pictures of the stuff.
Called the auctioneer that is hosting the sale.
Told him what I was interested in.
He was more than helpful and told me about other washers he has seen that were just left behind because the owners thought they were worthless.
Not only am I getting a sneak preview of the sale on Sunday, now that he knows what I'm looking for, he has made a few phone calls to add more pieces to the sale.
And,he will deliver for $10.00.
I'm liking this.

Hi Eddy,

I don't have a camara, sorry. It is indeed a Servis (Speed Queen). The motor is sadly burned out. I have lugged the motor to every appliance and motor shop here in Hamilton and in Toronto. They all say nope! It's the simplest of motors, one speed no reverse, two wires going to it.
