My neighbors are moving and have offered to sell me their Maytag Bravo washer and gas dryer for $500. They are less than one year old and they paid almost $2K. I have a 6 year old Maytag Atlantis pair that I purchased new and they have been trouble-free. I love the detergent dispenser in the washer's lid. I worked on major appliances many years ago (check my profile) and these machines are "mechanical" enough for me to repair in most instances. I doubt that the Bravos would be the same. I have a brother that owns an appliance repair business but he lives 500 miles away, so I'm limited to phone advice and parts at his cost. Please let me know what you think. This is my first post. I really enjoy reading everyone's input here. The photos are just great. Thanks |

I don't know,Twintub, you may like them. I have two friends who have them one has the Sears version (Oasis) the other has the Whirlpool (Cabrio). They both said that it holds a good size load but not anymore than their previously owned front loading models. They are noisier, use more water than the front loaders and both had been serviced numerous times for electronic failiers on their control boards. The dryers work great but clothes i.e.blue jeans faid and stain the white painted dryer drum. Why they don't go stainless steel in there dryers(Whirlpool) is beyond me.Even GE has gone stainless with their high end dryers.However,$500 for both??? Grab it ,baby!!You'll never find a deal like this again. They are fun to operate and you'll be spending hours staring in the windows!

The Cabrio and Bravo are Fisher Paykel designs but are made in Whirlpool's factory in Clyde, Ohio. |
