Hi Robert

trainguy's profile picture
I missed them in the previous posts. They are less than 2 hours from me. I'm not at all familiar with these models. Are the control panels lighted? What style is the agitator? The seller sure isn't all that interested in helping prior to the sale.

Rich

hard to say...

Hey there Rich!
It's so hard to say with just one pic to see. Control panel looks like it could be a lighted design.

Seller Has Added The Following Statement

launderess's profile picture
"My schedule does not allow the time to answer questions or show the product.

After the auction you can inspect the product for your approval before payment.

In the event, you do not want it, no negative feedback will be sent."

Anyone in the mood to take one for the team and drive over to Stowe, Ohio? *LOL*

Seller really does not seem to have his heart into this sale.

L.

Laundress, darling!

The one in Vermont has an "e" on the end, the one here in Ohio does not.

Incidentally, Stow, OH is very close by, but I do not have sufficient space to store these.

Stow, OH

I live near the Detroit area. I'm 194 miles from Stow. It's on the way to Cleveland.

And the seller of this ad is not making his sale enticing. I can look at that style of the machine. I can tell this machine is older than 10 years old. It's looks like the Montgomery Ward Washer that my grandmother used to have when I was a child. And I'm in my early thirties.

some info...

jons1077's profile picture
Even though this is a Montgomery Wards named machine I think it's the same model of Westinghouse I have. It's actually a rather good machine if functioning at its full potential. I'm not sure what agitator would be in this one but the Westies always had a ramp style agitator until the 80's. The panel on these is not lighted although it may look that way. I think a couple of models up would be. If I were close I'd go for them...they rare machines and quite fun!

I Would Like To Save These

trainguy's profile picture
And I am only 2 hours away, but as Launderess has pointed out, the seller is not friendly. Yeah, I'll just bet that if I won them, drove out there and didn't want them, the seller would just graciously say "okay, it's fine, I'll find another buyer." If they had lighted panels, I'd save them. But the seller can't even answer one question in advance??!?

Well,

jons1077's profile picture
Just ask them a question and see what happens. They don't have any negative feedback so maybe they aren't so bad. Worth a shot.

Hi Jon,

I did ask them two questions as soon as Launderess posted the link. I've not heard a thing from them.

Well, it took TWO tries on ebay, but I got both the washer AND the dryer. They are now home safe and sound and I can tell you that the seller is a pure nut case! He was a pip to deal with, but ended up being very nice in person. He didnt get any bids on the dryer so I made him an offer and he even helped me load them in my van........

Pics of this set to follow soon.......They are.......ah....rather "different" !!!!!

Rich, the seller told me about "all the crazy questions" he kept getting about this washer and dryer......mine included in that........ If they were not so inexpensive and so nearby I would have told him to go and take a flying leap.......He kept saying he was "too busy" to answer any questions... and he replied thru the ebay message system!!! I picked them up on Friday eve and posted pics of them on another thread: "Charm School grads"......
