Hi all. I'm Mike, and I'm a new member. You'll be hearing more from me later.

I found this posting on Craigslist - just listed today (August 13, 2008). It's located in Emmaus, PA (Allentown area).

allentown.craigslist.org/hsh/7952...

Text of the link reads: We have a Maytag washer and dryer for sale. The washer is model A608 and the dryer is model DE608. As you can see from the picture, these are both OLD! But they both are clean, can handle large loads, and work flawlessly. Maytag built them like tanks then, so I'd expect many more years of service.

I even have the original owner's manual for the washer!

$35 each, or $50 for the pair.

That is a quite respectable price, since they work.

Welcome to AW.org,

Somebody GRAB. THEM.

That is a great price and a great pair.

My Maytag dryer is the same one as this (though it is in the dread Almond instead of proper white), and it's the best dryer I've ever owned. Fast, quiet, and the drying sensors are very accurate. There's no energy wastage like there can be with a timed-dry machine. If you're a fan of electro-mechanical stuff, like I am, you'll love the end-of-cycle chime, which is an actual miniature brass gong.

Again- somebody GRAB. THEM. You will not regret it.

Beauties, just beauties! Look like mine, but I have the gas dryer.
