Can someone on the AW site let me know what the exact weight of the blue cast iron spray arm? I am in the process getting a KD-12p ship to Canada. The weight needs to be below 150 lbs....

Thank you!

Bob

Just saw your message.

When I get home tonite I'll weigh the wash arm for the KD-2P. It should be exactly the same wash arm as on the KD-11/12.

Just from memory and lifting I'm guessing it's about 20 lbs.

No Way!

That arm is nowhere near 20 lbs.. It is up there, but I would guess from past experience, more like 8-12 lbs. I would be more concerned with the weight of the whole unit which will include the washarm. I am sure someone here will have a sales brochure for them. If not the 11-12, then at least the 14's which would have been a bit heavier. That will give you a good estimate for the shipper.

The damned tank and frame on them were so beefy. Not to mention the pumps. That is what makes up all of the machine's heft. The washarm should be of little concern when you consider the whole machine would be well over 100 lbs!

The goal is to get the dishwasher under 150lbs or it will have to be considered freight. Actually the seller said it already weighs around 150lbs. He needs to add packing - I am hoping by removing the racks and spray arm will provide some flexibility for allowing packing.

Cheers,

Bob

then what?

Won't you still need the racks and washarms?
Why not ask him to stand on his bathroom scale while holding those parts individually and subtract the weight!
Won't you have to pay for an additional shipment? The racks need large boxes and you may wind up paying more for dimensional weight than actual weight!

I worked it out the shipping cost with the racks and spray separately in snail mail will be cheaper then shipping the whole unit weighing more then 150 lbs. IE 150 lbs 25" x 25" x 34" is about $185 to Canada from California. 151 lbs is considered to be freight and the price jumps to $395...... Shipping the racks and spray arm is around $40.
