Hello, guys! :)

I hope you’re all doing well. :) I’m sorry I’ve not been around much lately, but I have what I think is a reasonably interesting thing to say here. :)

My Miele T7734 tumble dryer, purchased in late 2006, has never really dried particularly well since new, but it has become even more odd over recent weeks, especially with regard to its buzzer. The buzzer itself sounds despite it having been switched off!

The visiting engineer, who attended on the previous visit about a month ago, said as soon as he came in, “I don’t have the parts, I’m afraid. We’ll blitz this and replace everything.” He was very good.

The attachments show the faults and parts required to fix it. There is a slight spelling mistake, but I’m quite forgiving on that. :)

I just thought I would let you know, especially as I believe some other Miele dryers are causing problems for some of you on here.

All the best. :)

Regards,

Carl :)

Parts Required

Here is a list of the parts to be fitted, some of which have to come from Germany.

Been some bad press on Miele and also Siemens cropping up in the newspaper of recent weeks about breakdowns within first year and long waits for service. Not good.

Hope its sorted soon Carl but looks like your in for a wait for the parts from Germany.

Steve

Hi steve

If you know, which newspaper did you read the articles on miele and siemens?

Thanks for the information, and yeah it's a shame as miele are usually very good, are the heading for a downfall in the future, VERY UNLILKELY! LOL

Miele & Siemens: bad Press

I'm very surprised at that, particularly as Which? Magazine gives them consistantly excellent ratings.

I read somewhere recently (maybe it was ERT-Weekly) that Miele had come up trumps in a repairs satisfaction survey; something like sixth consecutive win on the trot, or something like that.

Maybe the bad press report was looking at things negatively.

The Only Miele products I own that havent had repaired are two vaccums and 1 dryer that is a poor performer. Not counting my 30yo W423 Washer.

The W2515 had its top springs replaced at the 6 months mark, and has been working fine since (It took 2 visits, and 3 weeks to get parts) Now 2.5 years old

The first W2888 had bad vibration problems. After 3 visits Miele exchanged it for a new one. The second one is 18 months old.

G2220 Dishwasher had a bad habit of swallowing hard objects that would block the pump and couldnt be removed via the pump inspection cover. (Paid for 2 seperate service calls and got a lecture about scraping properly before I found out that the filter has been modified on the new ones and there is a part that can be retrofitted to the old ones as an additional guard. Known problem. No Refund for previous two calls)

At 3 years old, Drying fan in dishwasher squeals, Miele have agreed to replace outside of warranty as it's a known service problem, however it has taken two service calls and 5 weeks to get it done.

T4888C Dryer with condensor fitted takes 2-3 hours and everything comes out smelling like burnt rubber and with wrinkled elastic on low heat. I've removed the condensor unit which has gotten dry times down to just under 2 hours and everything smells and looks normal. Miele unable to diagnose burnt rubber smell, never returned calls, insistent I was the only one with the problem.

Miele in Brisbane are rude, dont return calls, and require constant poking and prodding to get any response.

Dont get me wrong, when working properly, I love the Washers and Dishwasher, they work better than anything I've ever used before. The dryer was the biggest mistake we've ever made, I should've bought something that didnt match.

I've just had a Miele cooktop and Ranghood put in and so far am happy with those. Whether they make it to 5 years old without service will be another matter.

I've decided against buying a Miele Wallover and Builtin Microwave and for the money, there are much better options, and instead am going with a St George Single Oven and a Panasonic Convection Microwave, both of which cost less than a Miele Oven.

Hee guys sorry to hear about all your problems with miele things... it's strange but when I ask people about miele applainces they are all happy. And when there is a problem mostly it's repaired or replaced fast en good. I don't know wich brand I should trust more than miele. But ok everybody makes mistakes and it's always possible to have bad luck with some things... Personally I think you better don't buy a brand but buy things you like to work with or fits into your live...

press

It wasn't a press article it was customers letters section to the editor there was a few exchanges about poor appliances and service. It was either the Independant or Times as I read both. One woman complained about Her collection of Siemans appliances that included dishwasher two ovens washing machine hob etc and all had either failed or had faults and she had rang siemens to complain but they were not interested as out of warranty. This then prompted letter about Miele having a six day wait for repairman and a broken machine that was 6 months old etc etc lots of family washing piling up and cost of launderette lol. All good fun.
