Todd (member Washerlover) from Phoenix was here on business so he stopped in for Saturday night wash-in. His all time favorite washers are the 12lb style Norge and Ward machines. I had one in storage so I pulled it into the workshop before he arrived. The entire thing was locked up, but 45 minutes of TLC brought it back to life... This is a 1959 or 1960 model, I'm not sure which. It has the very first lint filter agitator design that pumped water up through its center, but the first Norge design pumped the water straight up towards the cap, not outwards like later designs... WOW!!!COOL!!! Just like what my mom had-that shiny metal lint pan-burpilator-loved watching it as a little kid-your picturs brought back memories from long-long ago-had to stand on tiptoes to see. |

I love how we make up words for the various actions of our machines. |

The machine actually is a metered fill machine, water overflows into the outer tub and a sensor starts agitation. The timer allows up to 10 minutes of wash in the Normal cycle. The little button to the right is the water saver button, it stops fill and starts agitation if you wish to have less than a full tub of water.
