They don't look anything like GE units. The dryer filter proves that. The cabinet design of the washer also has that Whirlpool look to it.

GE never made anything that looked like that. The dryer door is pure Whirlpool, with it's top mounted filter. The washer lid's indentation (off center) is also pure Whirlpool. Looks like Whirlpool built Kenmore line.

Whirlpool

The dryer is very Whirlpoolish, the filter location especially, and the door too. From what I can see of the agitator, looks like Whirlpool to me.

Looks like you can see the straight tub ring too

Suspect Whirlpool/Inglis

You can tell by the high indentation of the kick-plate on the front of the washer this was standard on Whirlpool/Inglis machines made in Canada.

Neat machines, but definately have a Whirlpool heritage.

I believe these are Whirlpool made Kenmores for the Canadian market as some others have said. I am not sure if they were made IN Canada or just for Canada. I have never heard of a Whirlpool plant in Canada, but that certainly doesn't mean there was not one.

With a washer plant in St. Joe Michigan until the 1980s and with the huge Clyde plant in Ohio, WP probably had enough capacity near enough to the Canadian border through Windsor or Buffalo, etc. to handle Canada.

I'd love to know why different cabinets where used and different dryer doors, along with the different panels. Seems like that would only add to cost.

I've been told that some Canadian sold belt drives were made in Brazil through Brastemp. Not sure of the validity there either, but Brastemp did make belt drives after US production stopped, and some of our replacement belt-drive parts continue to come from there, as well some of the last of NLA parts did as well.

Made In Canada

I had a Whirlpool portable washer and dryer a few years ago, and they were made in Canada and the instruction manuals were in English, Spanish, and French same with the instructions on the lid of the washer. The dryer drum turned counter clockwise, as did the wash tub on spin cycle. Great machines for apartment size, I sold them for $100.00 to a good friend at work shortly after I bought the Frigidaire set.

Years ago, I picked up a belt drive Kenmore, which came from Canada. I remember the model # was C110.xxxxx, and the console had instructions in English, and French. Not sure where it was built.
