Just took a video of our washer spinning a load of towels and bedding (about four kilos) with the off-balance software overridden. To do so, I used the service cycle, which ramps straight up to approx. 1000 and then on to 1400 rpm.

It worked surprisingly well: the load became balanced almost immediately and the pump handled the water load very nicely. Last time I spun a load like this, I had water gushing down the door glass and the washer never reached top speed. This time, however, while the washer screams as it goes up to 1400, the noise dies down as soon as water drained and the load came out pretty dry and ready for the dryer.

I'll do more vids soon! Here it is:

Here yet another video: "A video of our privileg (Electrolux) washer's service test cycle: fill through main wash, pre-wash, softener compartment; heating (not shown), tumbling and 1400 rpm spin." I love the distribution tumble with the high water level.
