This old style (Mid 70's) Westinghouse has 3 bids on it. I wonder who wants it?

These machines have the ramp style agitator and make a feature of the indexing tub by labelling it as featuring "Double wash action"

A good fun machine my Auntie had one.

Hi Arrrooohhh,
My mum had one also, it was a great machine a real workhorse and yes the "double wash action" feature was interesting with it's indexing tub,it also had a tray-shaped lint filter which was attatched to the top of the washbowl and clipped out when it needed emptying.
I am not too sure but I think this was Mum's favourite washing machine, just in front of her even older Simpson fluid drive semi-automatic machine.
Cheers.
Steve.

Did you also know

Sorry Arrrooohhh,
I also meant to add to the previous post that this Westinghouse had as a feature (it may have been the first to do so,please correct me if I am wrong.),the safety lid lock, the lid was actually locked down into place when the cycle started, unlike now where most machines just stop if you open the lid.3
If you needed to open the lid, you had to push the cycle selector in to stop the cycle,(which was a real pain when I liked to see what was happening inside.).

Looks a very cool machine, does the sudz save work by discharging the water in a Laundry Tub or does it spin to the outer tub of the machine like a Parnall Spin Wash??

Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike, the suds save works by dumping the water into a sink. Then you use the suds return part of the timer to return the water to the machine for the next load. It works by reversing the pump so it sucks the water in. Sometimes machines have two hoses, one hose goes in the sink, the other goes straight down the drain.

Sometimes only one hose was provided in which case you have to save the water to the sink then put the hose down the drain. The machine paused for you to do this, otherwise if it continues with the cycle the sink would overflow and the water syphon back into the machine which makes a real mess.

Steve
Yes this is a fun machine. For some reason the lid lock didn't work on my Aunt's machine and I remember several times watching the entire cycle. I was dissappointed when she replaced it with a Hoover 1010.
