Is there anyone out there that might have a new style Horizontal pump assy available for a Kitchenaid. Whirlpool or Kenmore Tall Tub machine? Just picked up a Whirlpool Gold GU1500XTLT3 machine that needs a pump and the top constant rinse spinner. Unit is but 4 years old and the motor crapped out.
But the pump is the most important item. That is, the motor seal and impeller. I dont need the housing it goes into. That is all okay!
Please let me know, Thanks
Steve

Steve, is it the circulating pump or drain pump you're needing?

The BIG One!

Circulating pump is what I need. They are made for WP by of all companies.. LG electronics!
Obviously of very questionable quality. They don't seem to use a stainless steel shaft so the one I have has a rusted shaft and caused the shaft seal to fail and it got into the front bearing of the motor and killed it. Sadly, Whirlpool won't warranty it and I have seen this scenario with many other Whirlpool customers regarless of the machine being badged as WP, KA or KM. But yes, the circulating pump.
If I get another 4 years out of it, I would be happy, but it is in no way comparable to the power module pumps and light years away from the 21 series pumps they used to use!

Hey Steve,
I don't have any of these in my stash.
I will keep and eye out though. The issues with these however is that usually they are thrown out for the same issue your machine is having.
I would not pay full price for one of these pumps....

got a deal!

I went looking at all the places where I find trashed machines and a few parts places and nobody had anything nor any great deals either!
Went to Ebay and found one with the motor and pump housing complete NIB and won the bid on it for $56.00 plus shipping. Figured if I got another 4 years out of it, it would be worth it. Besides, I can now sell the whole unit and make a few bucks on it. I will hook it all up and try the machine when the pump gets here. And will report back!
Thanks everyone for checking their stashes!

I think that is a great price!
Hope everything goes well!

The pump came today!

I can't beleieve that the pump I got on EBAY arrived today! He shipped it on Friday!

Anyway, I couldn't bear to see the pump sitting on the floor in the box so I had to install it in my GU1500XLTL3 and see how it worked!

Well the pump housing came as a Kitchenaid part so the mount for the temp sensor was too large so I put the pump on the original housing and hooked it all back up and filled it with water and away she went!

It even tried to empty and refill because the water had picked up all the crud left on the tank walls and the detergent dispenser(previous owner obviously liked the gel type detergent which was gummed up the dispensers.) Looks like it will actually do well cleaning dishes!

I am amazed that it actually sounds like it is pumping as well as my power module Whilpool machine(DU950).
It is missing the insulating blanket so it is a bit noisier than it should be but nothing like a stainless tank should be.

I need some small minor interior parts for the rack and the constant rinse assy so I will order those from Marcone.

So all in all, a free machine which will cost less than 75 bucks to finish. Not so bad..too bad it is bisque and our kitchen is all white!

It is a pretty high line tall tub. Let me now if anyone is interested in it before I put it on Craigslist!
