Are you ready for this?? LG now makes a Kenmore set like theirs with the booster, high speed spin(1200RPM),and rear control panel. It's different because its tub (the washer)is not tilted back.It also spins counter clockwise.Mine spins clockwise most of the time.Anywho,The set is $1600($799ea) and says Kenmore instead of LG on it.

The Great Indoors

laundromat's profile picture
I was at The Great Indoors and my local Sears at Memorial Park Mall.At the mall, they are rezapping their showroom to accomadate at least 20 different stacked Whirlpool,Kenmore,Electrolux,Frigidaire,Samsung,Maytag and GE front loaders and some that were free standing including the new Sears Kenmore made by LG.

TGI had already spent a lot of time and money on their displays which are a lot less clostrophobic feeling when you go there.Nonetheless,it looks as though both stores are really pressing the Horizontal Axis gems and I told everybody I know at least 20 years ago this was going to happen including a 27 page letter to WCI/Frigidaire which they sill have.I sort of feel like a profit.

I saw the LG/Kenmore rear-control set advertised in today's (Sunday's) newspaper.

This could be FABULOUS!

Does this mean LG service will improve? At least for these Kenmore labeled LG machines? I know people who insist on buying the "American made" Whirlpool and Kenmore frontloaders which we all know are Bauknecht made!!!! At least I'll be able to recommend a quality "American made" washer now!!!

LG rebranded to...

New Kenmore!

I have not seen this new machine - yes the service issues are a big question? After my bad experiences I don't want to touch anything LG. I would like to see Sears come back with a combo but not from LG!

Rich, they already do since they sell LG branded appliances.

Sears also sources some bottom freezer 3 door refrigerators from LG.

OMG!

I saw this post this morning and I couldn't think of anything else ALL day! So after work I ran down to Sears to take a look-see. Ho-Hum...surely wasn't worth all the bother. They look just like the rest of their washers with that funny little control dial and the panel was SOOO plain. They have nothing on the LG's as far as style goes. They even have that spray-painted 'silver' look on the doors. But, that's just me. I guess I had wild visions in my head. You know, I didn't even notice if they were steam or not? Anyone know? If they were steam, that was a good price. :)

Some Kenmore Elite bottom mount freezers (not French door) are also sourced from LG--I have one.

Kenmore LG or KenG

peteski50's profile picture
As many of you know I will Not buy LG but I looked at it and is basically the same model as LG back control models. I wondering if it has the unecessary direct drive. Yes drum is straight up. And I don't think it has the sprayer. In fact I notice most of these newer LG's don't have the sprayer. Unless I am missing something. Also this model doesn't have the rollerjets. I really don't understand the point of sears doing this? But to me they mostly all seem like such BS.

I bought a LG made for Kenmore FL washer and dryer set last January (24") models. They are fantastic!!! Dryer is very quiet and the washer has a 1200 RPM!! Great Values - plus the the direct drive technology!!
