Here is my V-14 dryer - brought it back to Atlanta yesterday from Charlotte. I bought it from Gordon (THE Kenmore man). I was able to begin cleaning it up this afternoon, but still have a ways to go with it. It is the same dryer that FilterFlo passed along to Jim (frigiman) in Thread 19512, except Jim's is gas and mine is electric. Lawrence |

I'm not sure if this is the only reason, but GE suffixes usually denote the year with a couple of exceptions: P=1957 R=1958 S=1959 T=1960 no U(don't know why but model line changed) V=1961, the first year the machines had a 12 lb. capacity and a perforated tub. The "V" designation stuck for about 7 years. W=1962, but it was still labeled a "V-12" X=1963, still "V-12" Y=1964, still "V-12", control panel redesign. no Z A=1964, changed to "V-14" |
