I previously owned a Frigidaire front loading pair and never had any problems getting my clothes clean.I now have the KA and already am noticing stains that came out in my Frigidaire(ketchup, tomatoe sauce)without any pretrating or bleach did not come out in the Ensemble.I even set it for the "sanitize"setting for the hot water and that had no effect on the stains.I use TideHE,GainHE,and Tide w/bleach alternative and none have been effective. Please help!!!

That is strange, I wash Skyler's mud and grass stained jeans in the Duet constantly, never a stain escapes the Heavy Duty or Whitest Whites cycle. I usually use warm to hot water, TideHE liquid and if the stains are especially bad, I pretreat them with some of that new two-part Spray&Wash - works wonders on protein stains like grass.

I'm surprised you're having stain problems, too! Cleaning scores for the Hettie/Duet/Ensemble machines are higher than the score for the Frigidaire (according to Consumer Reports). The tomato-grease stain IS a tough one. I believe Tide HE is rated high for stain removal, so I'm not sure what to tell you. It is possible stains are being set by hot water, but if you used the hot setting when you had your Frigidaire, then that shouldn't be a factor... I've recently switched from Tide HE to Tide Cold Water and have had great results, even with stained whites; however, I use bleach. Most tomato-grease stains come out with Tide CW, but occasionally I run into a stubborn one. FYI, I have a 2003 Frigidaire FL and really like it. I'm thinking of getting the new, redesigned Frigidaire in June. |

Thanks for all the help and info!I rewashed using the sani and Clorox bleach. It worked fine but I rarely use chlorine bleach. It has a tendancy of rotting the fabrics out.Anyway thanks again!I stacked the set and installed a Formica countertop next to them and mounted a hanger bar across the inside of the closet the laundry is in to han the dry shirts, blouses, slacks and dresses.I illuminated the inside too using two flouresent lights and put up some shelves to store all the dtergent, bleach and fabric softner.I am tempted to get some string lights to put inside the outer plastic cover of the washer.I would mount them around the outer wall of the interior of the outer window and run the plug to an outer source for power. What do you think?I have already gotten the dryer interior light comming on during the dry cycle.

Thanks Jon!I do try to remember to get Calgon at the store but sometimes they're out of it and I forget.I prefer the original powder not the liquid.Gain is my favorite too!It smells great and I also get the fabric softner with the green cap that smells just like the HE detergent they make.I am going to the KBIS in Las Vegas!!!We(My room mate, Orma and I will be ariving in LV on monday 05/09 and returning on thursday 05/12.I'll take a few throw away flash cameras to get lots of pic's.That way ,if they're confiscated,I won't have to worry about it.
