This is my grandmother's Design 2000 washer from the early or mid 1980s (between 1983 and 1985, I think), and her 1972 Whirlpool LXE-series dryer. Sorry for the cats, LOL, they were actually the subject of the pictures. The pictures are old and faded.

Cool Whirlpool...looks like a 24" belt-drive at first glance like their Kenmore counterparts from the same era!

The other (possibly later) Design 2000 machines I've seen with the woodgrain control panels (like RJ's washer) are easier to distinguish. While they still have the indented lid handle, the control panel doesn't angle upward sharply like the BD's (and this model pictured).

I remember when these machines came out, fooled us into thinking we'd see the normal belt-drive interior and KAPOW!! - a whole new design!

Dryer pic didn't come through...?

Re: Dryer Pix:

I wanted to let you know also that the Dryer Pix won't open on my "AOL" Puter on the Site either, wonder what's wrong with it. I've just got the "x" in a Box, to click on to attempt to open, but when I request "open file" it won't open.

Peace and "Spooky/Ghostly" Drying, Steve

So sorry! The dryer pic showed on the preview, but apparently somehow got lost.

Re:

Talk about a "Life of Riley" no pun's intended to Steve Riley {LOL}...

I think that everyone who has a Cat or Dog have at one time or another have seen them get into some quite interesting position's to sleep, especially Cat's, because they try to get into the smallest item's like a Shoe Box or as above any kind of a Box they think that they will fit into.

My Cat however seems to love to get as close to me, especially her Rear to my Hip side for whatever reason, when we are going to Bed. I tell her if she were to get any closer, she would be under my Skin...{LMAO}

Peace, Happy Laundry Days
and Enjoying Fun with our
Pet's/Kid's, Steve...
