Mmm. Kay. The Youtube user Overflowingmachines has uploaded an interresting video about washing machine fires. He has collected pics of machines that caught fire.

The most scary pic is of a Miele machine.

The music in the video is another story. I got so annoyed i turned off the sound when i watched the video.

Anyway its interresting anyway. Enjoy.

The music was sick

Nothing more to say... Sorry. If you have a point to the thread then fine but the music and voiceovers were a little creepy and not particularly appropriate.

I had to hit the mute button.

These photos are interesting to remind something everybody ignores.

NEVER LEAVE HOME IF A WASHING MACHINE IS ON.

Also, never leave it pluged when not in use.

As a washers designer, I can say with all the words. ALL WASHING MACHINES CAN CAUSE FIRES...

Every machine will fail someday, even our brain, the most perfect machine created by nature, fails.

The difference between brands are only the time it will take to fail.

And when it fails, I hope you are close enough to it and you can avoid further damages.

Wasing machine fires ALWAYS have some alerts before it starts.
sometimes a hotter panel, sometimes the smell of burning rubber or plastic, sometimes a little bit of smoke and some times strange noises. If you detect these alerts and stop your machine immediately, you have huge chance chance to not need a fire extinguisher.

I had A Siemens that started making strange sounds/smelling burnt. I had a repairman at home. The circuit board was fried. Luckily it hadnt started a fire but still....

I noticed Something scary. Take a close lok in the video. The Miele machine. Wasnt it the same model that somone here had problems with. Dont remeber who, but the drum turned in a strange way. He had a video on Youtube but i cant find it anymore.

After what happened to me with my AEG Lavamat the other day with it tripping the electrics, the machine has been no problem for the past 6 years, this taught me never to leave the machine on and go out or leave unattended and fall asleep like I regularly do!
