I stopped at the "very used" appliance store in Fort Wayne this morning just to see what they had in old (new). There were a 1960's Kenmore belt drive set there in white that looked very nice,a couple of 1960's belt drive Whirlpools in,and one 1960's belt drive Whirlpool with the Magic Mix waterfall lint filter, and it's matching dryer. The machine that really caught my eye however was a 1960's Filter-Flow washer and dryer set that was a stunning chocolate brown color! Not the shaded coppertone that is fairly common, but a really attractive med. chocolate color. This Filter-Flo matched set were in VERY nice condition, and did not have a scratch that I noticed. Also they had some single center timer Maytags, and one matched set of Maytags in the harvest gold color None of these machines had the lighted consoles, however they all were nice looking machines, that could be made perfect without a repaint. This dealer offers a 90 day warrentee, and the prices are fair in MHO,for what you are getting. The matched sets are under $300.00,and the washers are appx. $150.00. I did notice the newer models (1980's&up)were higher in price. |

On West Washington Blvd. The brown GE Filter-Flo set do not have the space below the consoles. The consoles are black, with a very narrow strip of woodgrain above them. The settings for water temp and speeds are via black pushbuttons,on the left side of the console. I think it was 1966-68 era??. No lighted console,as I said before.Still a VERY attractive higher end vintage matched set, in exellent condition at a reasonable price. |

Could these be GE's "Coffee" color that came out after coppertone? If so they would be the darker color of the two tone coppertone colors. |
