My Hotpoint 1504 has decided to request some attention and has deceided that it has had enough of its old thermostat, and requires a new, well it is 39yrs old, and has been in constant use for the last 4 years, after fully restoring it. Are there any UK members out there that use to be engineers ? as i was wondering if there is anything i should know before tackling replacing this part..? Cheers..Keith (attached is a pic of my machine pre-restoration) |

Hi Keith The man to contact is Mark. He is an appliance engineer and specialises in Hotpoint top loaders. He is in Kings Lynn in Norfolk. His email is: MarknRosemary@aol.com He will certainly be able to help you! Mark |

Hi Keith Glad to see the old machine, looks a beauty!!! is it the bowl thermostat that has gone kaput???, Mark&Rosemary is the best answer, me and Paul went over there at the weekend and brought a vanload back with us, loads of stuff managed to get two complete 1509 consoles, gonna graft onto a later machine, next yrs project... Mark also beefs up the spin agi tubes by re-surfacing them and fitting tighter washers a known problem on later machines...give him a shout and let us know how you get on??, like the tap arrangement, I see you get to dial in the hot water then the cold, cheers, Mike |

Hi Jamie...well, it seems to have rectified itself, and is clonking away as normal !! Good news on the GE Filter-flow, i would really like to have a look at it sometime, do you know if it is 60's, 70's or later..?? I did try to call you a while ago, and will try and give you a buzz later this week, if you are around. Cheers..Keith |
