Congrats on a great looking purchase....

Thing is you will have to get in line for a washing machine - a front loader at any rate!

They are rather rare to put it mildly.

Top loaders are more readily available, but are themselves becomming harder and harder to come by and are heading the same way as the front loaders.

Me and my partner have the facia parts to be able to rig up an 1848 variable, using the dryer as a base, and did just that a few months ago - see attached piccy. produced a great effect, even though the powder drawer facia is wrong.

My neighbour had an 1828 (the one dial - 4 button machine) when i was a kid and my grandma had the earlier version dryer - the one with the name written in simple capital letters.

take it from me, if one is ever found, it will be a major achievement.

welcome to the club by the way.

cheers
paul

i remember seeing your dryer on ebay - really pleased it has gone to a collector.

Love the triangle badge on it, although it looks like it has been moved from the more usual right hand corner position.

Below is a more detailed piccy of the 1848 washer, sorry dryer, sorry - disguised 1701 dryer as a 1848 washer.

Hi, if a washer ever went on ebay the Gloves would be off, shirt sleeves rolled up and one hell of a bidding battle would ensue, not one of us would leve the computer till the Auction ended not even to sleep as so many of us want that Hotpoint liberator, I alway go to the sale rooms to see whats in but so many machins are now colected by retailers for recycling. I did have one but we don’t go there.

The door is purple plastic

The buttons are 4 colours - white, and three shades of purple.
