New Woolite.

Is this just for sweaters, fine washables and cold water wash?

Thanks in advance.

Jon. I see you have the Bendix, but do you have one of the new front loaders also? I have an LG with the control in the back and also an LG dryer which I got a few months ago. THe washer is 5 years old. Waiting for repair right now.

So....does the Woolite clean well in hot water, say...on whites....with Clorox? I just love low sudsing detergents. It was so nice when Dash, All, and Ad were made years ago. The Tide He, and Persil are great though. I also use the Amway, Quixtar, SA8. THe SA8 is also great.

Ray

Hey Ray

jetcone's profile picture
Whats SA8 & Quixtar? Never heard of them. If you saw the Norge machine demo-ed by Dr.F he was using Woolite HE with Clorox then and the towels came out great.
I have 3 new front loaders, a Gibson, a Neptune, and a Speed Queen. It works in all of them.

I really like German Persil and Tide HE powder not liquid. But Tide is trop cher for my wallet. Last time I priced a box it was $12.00 at our discount store!

I have been experimenting with Surf's Up a really low sudser for commmercial laundries, if you want to swap samples send me an email with your address!

Jon

Hi Jon

Hey there. How are you? Well.....SA8 is by the old name Amway company. It is now Quixtar. I am a distributor. SA8 was rated Number 1 by Consumer reports last year. I can tell you more about in my email to you. I am out of it now, but plan on ordering more. I want to use up some of all the detergents that are opened and hanging around. lol

SA8 does a great job cleaning and no suds. They also make a great line of other laundry products. Very economical too.

I will send you my address in an email.

Ray

Has anyone used the Arm & Hammer HE detergent? I was at Jewel and they had it as a buy 1 get 1 free offer so I bought it. I haven't used any yet, waiting to finish off my bottle of ALL.

Hey Jon, I was with Greg and Robert when we checked this out. I thought the scent was really nice. I checked at Publix today and they didn't have it yet but I will keep looking.

SA8 used to clean well. I got a box with the new packaging and it does not clean like it used to. And the CU report that they had this year showed that it dropped from #1 to somewhere in the middle...a few steps below Tide and a step above Xtra. I dont know if it has been reformulated but the new version sucks. I dont buy the stuff anymore and went back to Tide HE and German Persil Megapearls.
Oh and Jon you can find a 63 load Tide HE powder on sale from time to time at Target for 12 bucks. Thats where I usually buy mine at.

Mike. Thanks for letting me know about the SA8. I will find out if they changed the formula. I have not bought the new one yet. All I know...is that the old packaging was the best detergent I ever used. Even better than Tide.

I will post an update

Ray

SA8

Mike, I called the company. They like to know this. They did change the formula only to impove it. 2X whitening and 2X britening formulas were added. So....I will try and get an update. Another friend of mine uses it also. I called him and he said the new formula is fantastic.

Let me know exactly what you did not like and I will pass it on to the company.

Thanks,

Ray

SA8 just doesnt take out the stains like it used to like red sauce stains and such. It also doesnt whiten like it used to either. If they "improved it" they sure are missing something. Even CU panned it saying that the last time they tested it it ranked #1 getting 99 out of 100 points. Then it dropped to 66 points. My thinking is that if I am going to plunk down that kinda money for a detergent it had better work.
I did like the scent and it worked well in my front loaders but the differences between formulas were drastic enough in performance that I wont buy it again unless they change back. I even noticed a difference as well in the Dish Drops dishwasher detergent. It used to clean circles around Cascade. Now the formula they use isnt anywhere near what it used to be. I notice the difference in Pots and Pans cycles. And it shows in the pot that I use to cook pasta and potatoes in. The older version used to clean the starch circle well...the new version leaves the ring. Plus it leaves an egg smell to the load. And this all happens in my Miele.

Woolite HE

I'm going to try this in my front loader. Think it will work great on my sweaters and other "guy things". Speaking of Woolite, does anyone remember a commerical that used to be played in the 60's. For some strange reason I can remember the jingle..."You're look better in a sweater washed in Woolite. Woolite even makes a sweater look alive".

SA8 Input

Mike, Thanks so much for you input. I really appreciate it. I am going to send your comments, (only comments, no name) to Amway/Quixtar headquarters. I am also going to order a small box and test.

Do you also use the Tri_zyme and All Fabric Bleach? They did work quite well with the detergent.

I also complained to them that they discontinued the Dry Chlorine Bleach. It was really great for the whites. They said that if enough people complain about a product being discontinued, it will be brought back.

Hence....the complaint about the cleanability of the improved detergent.

And yes....I also like the clean scent of the detergent.

I will keep you posted.

Ray

I have used the TriZyme along with the detergent and All Fabric Bleach...I figured it should be used as a team...a trifecta if you will for laundry. I never used the SA8 detergent alone. And I still got a result that wasnt the same as before. When I used to buy SA8 detergent I would always buy the TriZyme and All Fabric bleach. And I would use a scoop of each. Our water here in Lynn is according to my dishwasher it runs about 11 on the hardness scale. It fluctuates between 10 and 11 each day. So I use a scoop and a half of the SA8 detergent. A scoop of the TriZyme and a scoop of the All Fab bleach. I do like the SA8 Original scent softener and dont need much of it to do a load.

Hi Mike. We also have hard water in the part of NJ that I live. However...I do have water softener for the whole house, except the outside faucets, which are by-passed. I like the smell of the detergent a lot. I just hate all these new scents that make your clothes smell like candy. lol

I have also used the Shaklee Products. Get Fresh is also a great laundry detergent which I can get for you if you are interested.

If you want you can email me privately at my email address in the profile.

You are the devil aren't you! Pulling a picture like that out of the blue! And me holding Fairy soap Oh Gawd! I could have sworn that I never ever touched the stuff! Now you throw up cold evidence!

Never Fear Mike! I am still researching JonDash, have switched directions in the past year on the formulations,I found a new patent from P&G and it seems progress has been made in just the past year on builders that reduce sudsing that are economical to use.
The builder I was planning on using is expensive.
We should have something for testing by next summer.
Who would like to be on the testing list??
