I just saw this posted on CL last night and sent person an email saying I would take it. It doesn't sound like a major problem to me. It's probably a DD model, but the price is right and I found someone with a truck that will help me move it.

Water inlet screens

My guess is that the screens that are inside the water inlets on the back of the machine are clogged up with rust/dirt/minerals. Ours do this every few years. Pry them out, clean them in vinegar or CLR and I'll bet the problem will be solved.

When I had my Kenmore in 1992 it did the same thing. I lived in trailer with its own well but I had most of my problems with the hot water inlet, my dishwasher had similar problems. Even after draining the water heater a couple the problem continued, so I ended up moving into house with city water.

I'm hoping its a belt drive machine, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Not a belt drive...

WP and Kenmore went to direct drive in 1984 (I had one recently).... so while yes a belt drive would be great, it's most likely not.

Another Freebie

I found another free washer locally from FreeCycle. I don't know what brand but the only problem is that is doesn't spin all the time.
