It appears so...too bad they switched to the "square" cabinet; IMHO this particular model is fab, especially the control panel! I'd definitely take this one over a "Taller Tumbler"!

YAY for Westys...

very interesting westy/wards

I have a 1962 fall/winter Wards catlogue, also a 1959 fall and winter. Interesting that both the 1959 and 1962 wards are square cabinets. In 1959 Wards had only the westy f/l (square cabinets) the BOL had 3 vanes and was called the "original tumbler", the TOL 1959 had 2 vanes at approx 12 o clock and 7 o clock and that potatoe pulley that is often mentioned here, the catalogue has a pic of it, wards called it an "eccentric wash cam". interesting the the 3 vane was rated at 9lbs, and the 2 vane with eccentric wash motion was rated at 11 lbs. The 62 also has 2 pages of norge appearing T/L laundry equipment and matching dryers. The T/L washers in the 62 book are of course solid tub machines. The 62 f/w catalogue has a best and better wards/westy f/l both are the eccentric, "potatoe drive"

oops lost my train of thought LOL

With westy mfr the square cabinets for wards since at least 1959. Westinghouse must of clung to there trademark slant front for their Westy badged line? alr2903
