Oh I would LOVE to have this machine :) I have always wanted to find a harvest gold Whirlpool. I don't think they made very many of these as I haven't seen many of them. Nice machine. |

It's a "matched" pair (7800) but different years. The washer (LHA) is a 1980-1981 model year. Serial number (C104) indicates early (January) 1981 manufacture. Toward the end of the LHA series production. The dryer (XK) is a 1982 model year. Serial number (M130) indicates mid-1981 (July) manufacture. Early in the XK production. |

That is actually one of the last of the original big-tub machines. Production on the common-baseplate models was beginning to ramp-up at this time in 1981 and by mid-year all the tubs had gone to the slightly smaller models that had the two rows of perfs on the basket bottom. The newest original sized large capacity machines I've seen was made in June that year but a suds model, which may have been a "one off".
