Hello, folks! I've lurked here from time to time...I came up with an excuse to join so here I am. I'm going to do the one thing everyone probably hates-start right in asking for advice with something I'm trying to sell. A friend of mine is slowly retiring from the TV & Appliance business and has asked for my help in moving some old merchandise. I'm a radio & TV collector myself (some of you may know me from ARF or AK) and that kind of stuff I know how to find new homes for. But what about these old appliance parts he has? Lots of timers, thermostats, some knobs and trim parts, other odds and ends. Mostly NOS, many different brands. Lots of "FSC" which I suspect might be hard to cross to manufacturer's part numbers? Much of it seems to date from the 60s, some older, some newer. Anyway, any advice is appreciated. Can I list them here? Is there someplace else to post them? There is no money in it for me. (well, my work will be repaid with some old TV parts I want for myself) I just want to do what is right for the owners. Oh, they also have service literature-I haven't been through it. I did see a bunch of Whirlpool service manuals, no surprise since they were a longtime dealer.

Blackstone Parts?

I'm in the same boat--cleaning out our family TV & appliance business, trying to save what I have room for. I would be interested in knowing if there are any Blackstone parts available. Email me if so--that's all I want. It's a shame to be tossing out good parts when so many people here would need them.

Timers, Thermostats and knobs

Wow - I am desperately seeking a replacement thermostat for a GE washer/dryer combo and would also be interested in getting a spare timer and knobs for this machine. If you do speak to John in Beltsville and he mentions that he is looking for GE parts, he may be referring to me! Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you need a model number and what I think may be a part number for the thermostat.

Thanks for the advice and contacts so far, I do appreciate it! One thing I have more than anything are FSP (Factory Specification Parts, wrote it wrong in the first post.) My guess has been that these are generic replacements for all brands; or were they only for Whirlpool? (I noticed one later box said on the label that they were a division of Whirlpool) I'm not clear on this. I'm hoping I can help some folks out here, but some things are needle-in-a-haystack. I'm over halfway through typing my inventory list, which will make things a lot easier to search.

I really do enjoy looking around on here. I don't get to see many vintage major appliances out in the wild these days, but if I do I know where to post the leads! The last house we lived in (a rental) was home to an early 60s GE double oven & bottom freezer refrigerator (may still be there?) plus a 60s Hotpoint dryer.

Info on FSP

FSP parts are actually the Whirlpool name for their own parts. Not just repair parts but original equipment too. They are like Motorcraft is to Ford. I don't know if FSP ever offered parts to fit other brands, but as Whirlpool took over other manufacturers such as KitchenAid and Maytag, their parts began being distributed with FSP logos on them.

I'd have a keen interest in anything you happen to come up with on that list!

FSP parts

BRAVO!!, I'm glad to hear people are trying to use vintage new and good used parts. I collect Kenmore laundry from 1960's,early 70s. I especially look for late 50s parts and literature for hotpoint electric ranges, washers & dryers too. I would really appreciate hearing any info. on this. Thanks, walt
