In the very recent past I have posted threads saying "Am I going nuts?" or "They need to lock me up" because I have been bring home so many washers and so fast, that I think I have lost my mind.

Well, I think what I did this past weekend secures all this. Yes I rented a pickup and drove 370 miles (one way) from LA to Phoenix (in the rain) to pick up some laundry equipment.

So here they are all wrapped up like Christmas presents, loaded in the truck and secured. It's a good thing I wrapped them in plastic because they sat out in the rain all night and were rained on for about half of the drive back to LA.

Any guesses in what they are? Hint: if you've been paying attention the last week or so, you should have a good idea.

The machine sitting on the drivers side front corner is a Maytag. The front panel, gray foot, and side panel with 3 screws on the bottom is a dead giveaway. Wonder if you got an 806/906 set in there? :)

Yes the one the the left front corner is a Maytag.... but what are the other two??

I know my hint was a bit vague... but I don't want to give away too much!

Any guesses smaller item wrapped in gray in the right corner?

Well one of the packages looks like an Easy washer w/spinner. But the other hmmm...could be a Whirlpool or Whirlpool built washer...or it could be a dryer....

Good guess ChesterMikeUK, however I ALREADY have Universal wringer AND the Norge gas dryer... I don't need more of the same.... (well maybe), but no that is not it!

Mike (nmaineman36) An Easy with a spinner, huh? Hmm.... wow, that is a great guess actually!

Maytag 806 washer & an 808 dryer!!!

revvinkevin's profile picture
The washer is a series 2, with a serial number of 738556 EA

And the electric dryer has a serial number of 594837 CX

WOW!!! Now I have a VERY nice matched set!!!

Thank you James (Jimmyb) for holding them for me!!! (and the Easy too!)

YES, almond!!

revvinkevin's profile picture
And they are in VERY good condition!!! I was going to say "wow I have a matched set now..." but I actually have 3 matched sets!

This Maytag set, the 1980 Kenmore belt drive washer and matching gas dryer, and the 1994 White-Westinghouse FL set!

Now all I have to is run connections (electric & gas) so I can use the dryers too!

Great haul

The Maytags are beautiful. Lucky find.

But the Easy Spindry is fantastic. It's about the same year as mine. And those are the MOST fun machines to use. They do a great job. And there's nothing wrong with having fun while you're getting your job done. You'll love it.

Hey thanks guys!

This new Maytag set will definitely be keepers!!

Can anyone tell me what year they are?? The washer is a LA806, series 2 and the serial # is 738556 EA. Thank you in advance!!

Now I will have to do some "soul searching" because I need to put my "collection" on a diet. I need to cut some fat here as I have WAY too many machines now!

And thank you for all your wonderful comments!!!

Excellent Maytags - those dryers are built like tanks. I would have never guessed that was an Easy in the truck, they are fairly rare around here. How do you like the cone-rinsing?

Gosh darn, what a beautiful pair! Love the illuminated console. Is the washer the large tub? Does this model have the illuminated tub too?

Gansky... so far I have actually used the spinner (with laundry) just once, but I like it, it seems to do a great job!

Leonard... Yes this is the larger tub and it has 4 water levels too! No it does not have a tub light (darn!), it's too new. I am still trying to figure out the year it was built, but I suspect it's 1977 - 1979.

Anyone have any idea on what year it is??

Thanks!
Kevin

Kevin

The Maytag Date-A-Tron reads that your EA serial numbered unit
was produced January 1980.

In my garage I have an old Easy spindryer, they really are lots of fun.I wash the dogs blankets and tennis shoes in it,and it really spins fast in that little tub.I have a 1930s with the vacuum cup agitators and spin tub its a beautiful green speckled tub.Everyone should have one!
