Hi gang! Got a question for all of you. Does anyone own a Amana Front loading washer(model NFW7200TW)? I will be getting one very soon(It was to be here this last Friday) I couldn't pass it up for the price I got it for, from homedepot. I am just wondering what the reviews on it from others are. From what I have read online, everyone gives it great reviews. Its a no fancy-frills machine with basic-straightforward choices(which what I wanted). Im looking forward to hearing what others have to say. Rich |

Hi Rich,,,I saw this machine in Home Depot the other day. It is a Samsung machine which is like the last of the Maytag Neptune before WP took over. We have had ours for over three years now and we love the machine, Cleans well, spins well. Our only problem lately has been the spin has decided to vibrate excessivly so tomorrow service is coming to put in new shocks and feet on the bottom. Outside of this all is great with it. We have the matching dryer which is a great dryer with even drying and is pretty quick. Good luck with the machine. We did purchase a service contract on the machine which has now come in handy......I think with any of the new front load machines it is a good idea. Dan-Bendix5

The NFW7200 has been a good washer for us to sell. It fits in smaller spaces than the bigger units and, strangely enough, I see less issues with them than the other Samsung sourced machines like the MAH8700/9700. Your flooring is going to be the biggest influence as to your liking it or not. These machines prefere to sit on SOLID flooring! If you have any play in the floor, your washer WILL let you know about it! There are two things that can be a drawback. First is the pump. It works well enough but it sits in the back of the washer and is vulnerable to pins, coins, etc and can jam. This means pulling the washer out, pulling the rear panel off, clamping the hoses to be able to work on the pump with a full tub of water and hope the impeller fins are still intact. BTW, that samsung pump costs around $150-200. Second, the front gasket (or boot) is also costly. I haven't seen any mold/mildew issues with this one and it is a tough piece of rubber but if you wash something wrong or overload it so that something like a zipper or buckle rubs or slices into it, the Samsung boot can cost around $200 and be a factory order! Other than that, my customers who own one have, overall, been pleased with it's performance and what it cost (over here around $600). I think it will do well for you. RCD |
