Hi all I've got an old Hobart/Kitchenaid "Patrician" dishwasher (model #KDP-18, serial # 201055304) in use that makes quite a bit of racket when washing, especially when the unit requires water. I'm thinking it's maybe the water inlet valve but not sure.

I don't know how old it is but maybe 80's, I'dd love to know how old it i!? Any help on what to look for or where to get parts would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks, Colleen

Colleen, it's the nature of this beast. The Patrician model waws only in the "18" series. I remember seeing literature for these from late 1977 or early 1978 until 1980 early 1981 at the latest.

So, do you think it's worth repairing?? Are there still many Kitchenaid/Hobart dishwashers running today of this vintage?

Worth repairing?

Uhhhhhhh, yes.

You won't find a much better made dishwasher today.

I think the only dishwasher that came close to these ol classics were the porcelain tub Maytags. Just by looking, the quality was very evident.
