806's

Beautiful set of 806's in that lovely Coppertone! The dryer looks to not have been used much. No lint on any of the blower parts which is VERY unusual. They both work perfectly. I've also found something else but will reveal what it is later today after I pick it up. It will be on another part of the site as is is not a washer and dryer but is a VERY exciting find! (HINT: It will be on the "Super" area of the site! I will give you another hint: It is still in the box and is from 1972.....more later...Mark)

The dryer is electric. My plan is to set them up as the Maytag print ad. It has 4 sets of 806's in a row displaying the lovely colors available. White, coppertone, avocado, and exciting harvest gold! Can't wait to get the laundry studio (and the house) done! Mark

Great set! Love that washer: only 2 cycles, but all the possible options to make it one super flexible machine. And the simplicity of the dryer is just wonderful. I spent the summer of 1976 with a family that had this pair. Tide powder went into the tub, Era went into the fabric softener dispenser, start the washer at the pre-wash setting and let it rip. Then spend the rest of the summer itching because the short 2 minute rinse couldn't flush out all that detergent!!!

Maytag Coppertone Dryer

Mark:

Does the dryer have lighted controls? I saw one like this at "Pal's Place" used appliances. He was asking $40.00 for it. Should I run back and snatch it up?

WOW, my all-time Maytag fantasy pair including the coppertone!!! I wave my paw if you EVER decide to divest yourself, or you find a duplicate in as good a shape in another color. I agree with Peter, a super flexible washer. This was THE ONLY Maytag model to ever own.

Hi Retromom!

Yes, the controls light up. The dryer drum has a light in it and the washer tub has a light in it! Lighted Control Heaven!!!
Appnut: I will try and find you a set. You never know as Roanoke Robert (aka Lady Kenmore) just found a white 806 by the curb. Took it home and hooked it up and it works flawlessly!!! I can only wonder why anyone would throw something like that away????? Mark

and in coppertone! Makes me feel better than another set was saved - unlike the fate of the DE806 that Cory and I saw last friday. Enjoy!
