SAV....Stay Away!!!!

Anyone on here will tell you to stay away from any of those SAV Maytags!

You probably "could" replace the seals but from what i've read of them...they'll start leaking pretty soon after!

But, each to their own....

What does the inside of an SAV look like?

Is it an Orbital Maytag or a Norge based machine?

Oh, the HORROR! Oh, the HUMANITY!

This is an Amana based machine after Maytag took over. Unless you have a fondness for burning your money and banging your head against a wall while watching it burn, I'd RUN, not walk, away. The basic issue is that the upper shaft of the transmission wasn't milled quite right so it turns in a kind of eliptical rotation. This knocks that crappy lip seal assy around which causes it to leak into the bearings. You will need to replace the transmission assy (which may or may NOT be under an extended part wtty), the tub seals, most likely the bearings. YUCK! "A handyman could possibly do it..." ROFLMAO!!!

I thunk that was an Amanatag.I'd take it for free, but that's the only way.
