After my father passed away, my mom moved into an senior living apartment that had hookups in each unit. Since she sold her appliaces with her house.
I gave her my two-year old, very excellent, Fisher & Paykel Smart set, and purchased and Electrolux IQ Touch set.

Although not TOL, the Electrolux machines make others I've had seem like toys by comparison. Both the washer and the dryer have tub lights, the cycles are very flexible, and the tubs/drums are huge! The dryer is a bit noisier than the washer, mostly due to a muted whistling of the exhaust fan. The 18 minute cycles really do work, and the washer does have a water temperature booster. I'll give updates from time to time regarding their performanc, but so far I think they are awesome!

I've seen those sets at Lowe's and Best Buy. They are really cool!

So how does the dryer's 18 minute cycle work?
Is that for a full/large load?

I am so glad to see someone has bought these. I have looked and lusted after them at Lowe's but have heard nothing about performance and reliability.

Next year. My beloved Maytag has promised me at least one more year so I can get the car paid off, then I get a new washer. Then again if I could get the little darling to hold out for two years I could get the matching dryer too.

Please post updates and pictures and experiences and picture and . . .

Electrolux IQ Touch set.

Take a look at the positive reviews (so far) on the GardenWeb, under the Home Forum.

I'll get the pics on here soon. Just wanted to clean up my laundry closet a little before uploading.

Nice pics, does it actually wash well in 18mins?
And does it dry well in 18mins an all?
Don't american electrolux front loaders have a recirculation jet like UK? Its called jetsystem in UK as you may know.
Nice colour to match ur room.

I have drooled over the lighted wash-drum and the fantasy-like door latches.

Very cool color - I'll bet it takes your breath away when you open that closet door.

Does one of the dryer options say sanitize? How does the dryer sanitize? Does it just heat up like the old Westinghouse dryers did? lol

"Does it actually wash well in 18mins?"

As one might expect, the 18 minute cycle works well for lightly soiled items, bath towels, jeans if they aren't too dirty, and sheets. It really isn't meant for special care items such as delicates, permanent press, whites, etc.

"And does it dry well in 18mins an all?"

In the dryer, the 18 minute cycle leaves items with a trace of moisture. Some like it that way, some prefer more arid drying.

"Don't american electrolux front loaders have a recirculation jet like UK? Its called jetsystem in UK as you may know."

Not sure about that one. Maybe someone else can enlighten us.

"Nice colour to match ur room."

Thank you. The "colour" is why we decided on the lower end IQ set and not the Wave-Touch set, as Mediterranean blue is not available on the TOL models.

The sanitize cycle resides only on the washer. And wouldn't you know, I once had one of the old Westy gas dryers with the sanitize cycle. My sister dried baby clothes in it once and it scorched them. TAKE THAT, YOU NASTY MICROBES!

Correction! There IS a sanitize button on the dryer. It's not a whole cycle, but according to the manual, it extends drying time at high heat, killing 99.9% of bacteria.
