Hi,

You may remember we purchased a Kenmore 655.1311.

I have a little problem. The dishwasher is less than
three months old and the start button fell off.
I mean the diamond shape part with the word start fell
off. Seems kind of cheap. It is a piece of plastic
that is almost as thin as paper.

Any suggestions? Should I have Sears fix it as it is
under a one year warranty? Or should I glue it on
or just leave it off?

I think I read of someone else complaining of buttons falling off in the reviews.

thank you

HELL YES! That is exactly what the warranties are for!!! If I bought a new (anything) and bits started falling off after a few months I would not be a happy camper.

I suppose the only consession would be if I could not get them out there after I'm home from work. Now if you could get them to come out Saturday..........

Me too!

Yep!The start/resume diamond fell off the machine I got from the guy I sold my DU950 to! It is 4 years old and for all I know it fell off right away too!
I wish they had a part number for it! It is the only button which seems to not be part of the front panel assy.
If I find a number for it, I will let you know.
Mine is a white panel so it may be specific to that unit.
But the quest is now on!

Thank you both.

I still have my diamond. How is it attached? It looks like my Cancel button is coming off next. Are these just stamped into the
faceplate?

I just inspected it some more.

I now notice both the Normal and Cancel buttons are coming off. They are broken through halfway around the circle. These are the buttons that get used. Do I tell Sears to replace them now also or will they put a whole new faceplate on?

Ridiculous!! Can I expect the next one to fall apart after it is repaired?

Suggestions welcome :-)

thanks again!

Mine is almost two years old, there is sogn on mine at all of any deteerioration. One doesn't need to push them much at all, just a light touch to activate.

Mine must be made defective.
