i am so frustrated! i bought my LG front load washer and dryer only 2 years ago and they are in PERFECT shape and barely used, i paid $1800 for them new! and i am trying to sell them on craigslist but all people keep offering me is $500 dollars!! one guy even tried blaming the economy saying that i shouldn't be asking more than $500 i am NOT giving them away! i am asking $1100 which i think is fair.

they are georgeous, i am trying to get rid of them b cuz i just got the GE filter flo. i just had to have the GEs and i am not really a front loader person anyways, th LGs DO work very great tho, they r immaculate and i didn't use them much. plus, i like being able to use ANY detergent i want in my filter flo.

Deprecation.

Can understand your wanting to get as much as possible for a basically brand new set, but that is the way things go with anything new these days. People just don't want to pay near new price for something that is "used".

Second problem is the economy, not exactly the best time for many to pony up over a grand in cash.

Keep them listed though, you never know!

Good luck!

It is the economy!

Everyone is tight on cash these days so they turn to CL for bargains.
I did myself when I found my FL LG, the story of which was chronicled here. The washer is 4 years old and the kid selling it had it posted for more than I paid for it. I offered him 250 for it and he came down to 400 which was my max price so I decided to take him up on the offer.

The unit worked for one day and he was gracious enough to give me back 150 bucks for the purchase of a new control board.
So it cost me only 250 for the machine.

I think he knew full well that there were problems with it after denying it and faced with refunding the full 400, he probably thought having 250 was better than nothing.

From the pic you posted,we have the same machines, except mine is in platinum and yours looks lots better than mine.

The prices have come down for these models now that FL's are seemingly catching on. HD had one for less than 900 bucks so you will need to be patient on selling them.

We have come to love ours and it is working just perfectly now.
I stopped using Tide HE and have gone over to Ariel and Foca powders made in Mexico and they outperform any and all other detergents we ever used whether in TL's or FL's.

I personally think you should keep the units for the future. Because you know that the machines they will be making in the future will follow the history of many of the machines we have seen that don't last more than a few years and then are tossed out.
I do miss the top loader for certain things but am happier using 3000 gallons less water a month along with the corresponding savings in sewage rates!

Good luck with your sale. Keep us posted.

These are the ones I left in the mainland(Texas)My dryer was the electric model. If I get these, the dryer has to be gas and I need a conversion kit to go from natural gas to LP (liquid propane)and they need to be shipped. They are worth more than $1100

aloha,

Chuck from Hawaii
