Hello again,

I've got a WU600 circa 1972(?) that I THOUGHT was broken. Drain pump appeared to be dead, but it looks like it may have had a clogged drain hose. Anyway, I picked up a free Maytag Jetclean EQ Plus and was going to replace the WU600, but while checking to see if the breaker was off the pump started working. Just ran a full cycle and it seems to be fine. So nice to have it back in action.

But now I've got this newer Maytag, all electronic and energy efficient. Reviews and comments online are mixed. Is it worth using? I could 1) save it as a spare, 2) replace the WU600 and save that as a spare or 3) pass the Jetclean on to another needy family.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What year does the Jetclean EQ look to be from? Personally I wouldn't bother with a Maytag dishwasher newer than the mid to late 90's. Far too many reliability problem, including the ones that will burn your house down.

Maytag Dishwasher

We had an early 90's Maytag in our house in Corpus and it was great! We liked it so much that we got a similar model built into the house when we moved in '95. That was a mistake.........that new one was horrendous. Constant timer, motor, and seal problems. We finally yanked it in favor of a BOL Kenmore that washed 10000x better than the Maytag ever dreamed of.....and quieter I might add.

After the disastrous Maytag dishwasher, disastrous NorgeTag washer, and the absolutely HIDEOUS excuse for an electric Maytag range, my parents converted to other brands. They were a Maytag family up until all that new "crap" arrived in their house.

Sad to say it, but even the DD Roper washer they have now is a far better machine than the Norgetag it replaced.
