Dyson came out in 2000 so thats not an option, but the HOOVER NEW WAVE 1500 in silver. That would be my favourite due to nice display and look, spin wash and spin speed and capacity. And the digital display with status numbers that indicate what it's doing.

Mums ASEA Cylinda 12000...from 1989

Looks almost idential to the Asko above but with the outer door..

But the machine I miss most in so many ways is the 1994 Hoover Electra 550....to which I just found the owners manual...sigh. At least I know the machine is still being used

My favorite washer of all time is the GM/FRIGIDAIRES from unimatics passing up on the multimatics because of their slower spin rpms.and the Jet Actions solid and perferated tubs. From the twelve pound solid tub to the 18 pound perferated tub.

I like the GM Frigidaire Jet Cones the best. The old Frigidaire Jet Cone washing machines made laundry FUN! But with the current models on the market, it's a chore. GM made a big mistake when they sold that division.

OLYMPIA

I like these olympia's build to last as long as mankind! Really you would be surprised how much of these are still up and running!!!! This model was introduced in 1979 and was made up too 1989. You could choose the temperature from cold too real boilingpoint. I had a 6h soak cycle during prewash.

Oh, that's easy....

My centre dial Maytag A208 from 1978!

If I had any room, I'd look for one now.

Lawrence/Maytagbear

I'd still keep my Dependable Care LAT9806, however.

In the 60s my favorite machine was the Sears Lady Kenmore combo; in the 70s and 80s, my favorite was the Westinghouse Heavy Duty front load washer with rear mounted controls/pushbuttons. I'm now using the Maytag Neptunes (front loading) since 1999.

i personally like the Speed Queen with the solid stainless steel tub...magnetic shifters...aerated fill...210 degree agitation stroke...the side flip lid...and of coarse how it shifted from wash to spin non stop...talk about speedy...not to mention being able to hold the button down and watch it spin...and the deep throat sound from the pump from the minute you turned it on.....aahhhhhhhhhh!
