Finally some videos.

When John ws here n Brazil, I decided to buy this machine so he could see something very different than the usual.
This kind of machine is very popular here in Brazil, not only for "poor" people, but also in some regions, they are a good complement to an automatic washer as many people like to wash in them (and save the suds) and use the automatic washer to rinse and spin only.

Or, they also use it as a prewash.

As you can see, this machine is very simple and easy to use. It's all made of plastic and weights no more than 5 kg.
It has a 15 minutes timer and the filling/draining are manual.

Sorry for the second video being too short. My cam ran out of batery but soon I'll make more videos and post.

Wow! I love the looks, sounds, etc. of spanish washers! They are so weird and so cool! How does that machine spin?

Vinny i know that!

Even I used a hoover TT when i was in college.
BUt

Ok, they have the same wash action, they have the same drum shape, BUT THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT!

You have to agree only inbrazil we have this kind of machine (I mean, 100% made of plastic, very light, very simple.)

About the cloths destruction... well it's very agressive but if you knwo how to us it, you can get excellent results, specially for those very dirty jeans or mops.

Funguy

This machines are made to be as cheap as possible so... they don't spin.

whe I mean cheap, i mean really cheap.

here in my city I can find a brand (the worst) that costs 59 reais (aprox 21 dollars).

If you don't have the money to buy an automatic and you have a lot of laundry to do every week, I'm sure you would love one of those. It's much better than doing everything by hand.

by the way, spin isn't so important here in brazil (i mean compared to cold countries)

If I squeeze (by hand) a T-shirt and hang it on the line, in 2 hours it will be completelly dry.

You see such washers overhere in Europe too but I like this one because it has the pulsator on the back instead of at the bottom. This one looks more like a Hoover. Now all you need is a modern Spinarinse!

Very Hoover-ish

Definately reminds me of my mother's and gran's Hoovermatics.

Apparently that wash action was aggressive. So much so, that a UK high street clothing store used a Hoovermatic to test its clothing. (Can't remember if it was 'Marks & Spencer').

Anyway, who needs spin-driers when clothes dry in two hours flat?

Anyway, who needs spin-driers when clothes dry in two hours

People who want to dry the clothes in 10 minutes on the line. or a load of jeans in 6 minutes in the dryer (considering a frigidaire affinity)
LOL
