Put the last few connections on and then hooked up the water and drain hose fixed the front back on refitted the door seal and plug in the power.

I was not expecting much but the door lock light came on and the water valves started and filled to the original water level this machine had, valves shut off and then the MOTOR started, tumbled for 12 seconds stopped for 6 seconds and then restarted anti clockwise for 12 seconds. It repeated for 12 wash actions and then the HEATER came on BLOODY HELL, motor for 6 seconds with 12 second pause and the glass started to get warm, continued till the 40c stat kicked in. Back to 12 second wash with 6 second pause for the duration of wash then pump and distribute. Program ended there so will have go back to computer to find out why it did not go onto rinses.

Can’t believe it went at all.

And no water on the floor, no RCD tripping.

Really pleased that it has started doing what you intended.

I really am in awe of your ability to produce your own personally programmed machine.

Cant wait to see the vids of it doing its thing.

Hope that the computer throws up an obvious problem re the lack of rinsing.

Keep us updated.

Cheers
paul

Thanks

I have found some typing errors in the program and a few missing delays which I have put right, I will have to wait till Friday which is of course is a bank holiday so will have the whole day to play. In the mean time I will finish the wiring to the front facer so the switch work and put the heater pilot lamp in place.

Well I have sorted out some problems and made some more!!

First the motor got red hot after only a few minutes, found I had the belt to tight and the taco set wrong, these Hotpoint motor have a twist cap on the taco which alters the speed an amazing amount, so that’s been set, motor now runs at the right speeds and stays at the temperature that I think is right, just warm to the touch (power off of course when placing a hand)

I may change the pump as it’s noisy and would prefer a shaded pole pump.

Sorted the program out so it will rinse.

But

It keeps resetting when call for additional water after running for a few minutes, so have to press the program selection switch to start it again, not sure why it’s doing this??? One of my theories is electro interference from the mains causing the voltage regulator which supply the 5v dc to the chip to trip its safety cut out.

I have managed to wash the dogs bed in it so far, and found some more program issues, first and most important is the interim spins in-between the rinses, at the moments I have it distributing for 1 min then spinning for 1 min but there is such a small gap between tub and drum the water is not draining out fast enough causing motor strain, so I’m changing it to 1 min of distributing, 12 second spin, 1 min of distributing, 12 second spin, 24 second distributing, I was hoping to not have to make to many fiddly parts to this program, keep it simple and short.

So still lots to do.

supermewhirlpol are you going to share you project with us?
