If I remember corectly, the Imperial had 4 temperature settings and the Deluxe as well as the Custom/Gold Crown models had two.The Imperial had a sensor (as well as the Custom Imperial model)to enable one to use the auto dry setting which "felt" the dryness or dampness of the load.Once the load would reach the dryness selected,it would cool down 10 minutes and shut off sounding a loud buzzer. Those with the sensor had a timer dial that turned clockwise only not either way like the models below them.I had a few different models and was not at all impressed with either of them.Yes,they dried my clothes but not that fast. Each full load took at least an hour to dry. When I had the previous models(Jet Action washer and matching DPC dryer)it only took 25 minutes to dry. However, the sand or residue would not drain out and would cause a huge mess especialy if you lived around any beaches or waterways.

I forgot to mention too that I had to continualy use a wire brush to clean off black carbon deposits built up on the igniter bar.It would dissable the igniter to light the flame used to heat the dryers.A real pain in the ass. But,I,to this day, still have that diseaes called "FRIGIDAIRE-Itus"!!!!!!!LOL
